(05.30.2020) Remembering the glory of the College Football Hall of Fame

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

Everyone knows about the horrendous acts unfolding across the country. Protests everywhere, including in the city of Atlanta.

One of the impacted buildings was the College Football Hall of Fame, in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

I visited the Hall of Fame two summers ago. So many unique artifacts and exhibits. I sincerely hope that any damaged building can be brought back to glory.

This one hits a little closer to my heart, however.

I have attached some of my favorite photos from my journey through the hall.

Hopefully, the building, like many others across the United States, are able to be restored to glory once these dark times settle down.

Enjoy:

Display commemorating the rivalry between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines.

Display commemorating the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship team, including the jacket of head coach Nick Saban and the jersey of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Display commemorating quarterback Baker Mayfield, who led the Oklahoma Sooners to the 2018 College Football Playoff at the Rose Bowl Game before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Display commemorating standouts from the 2017 college football season. Includes the jersey of Louisville Cardinals quarterback and current Baltimore Ravens hurler Lamar Jackson, in addition to the shirt of head coach Scott Frost, who led the Central Florida Knights to a perfect 13-0 season and a Peach Bowl victory over the Auburn Tigers.

A wall, at the museum's entrance, holding a helmet from every college football team across the United States.

That wall symbolizes how sports, particularly college football, can unite a fanbase and even an entire nation.

The divide between both sides of the aisle is purely sickening right now. Regardless of where you stand on the controversy and ensuing protests/riots that have developed over the past few days, one thing will always stand true.

We all matter.

What has been accomplished over the past few days has done nothing but only put more people in harm's way and only further divide this country.

It is time for all of us to wake up and realize how precious life is.

Right now, the realization is not there. It needs to be. Or, as a collective nation, our future does not look at all promising.
