COLUMBUS, Ohio - Roman Josi scored two goals, including the game winner in overtime, to lead the Nashville Predators to a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in a Discover Central Division matchup at Nationwide Arena on Monday night.
The win helped Nashville (29-22-2) maintain its position as the fourth and final playoff team in the division.
Following a scoreless first period, the Predators scored three second-period goals, including one from Josi, to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room prior to the final 20 minutes.
Behind the stick of Emil Bemstrom, who brought the game back to even with a natural hat trick, Columbus (16-25-12) tied the game with 4:53 left in regulation.
The Blue Jackets were able to extend the game into overtime, but Josi netted his second of the game with 1:36 left to help Nashville earn 2 crucial points.
Elvis Merlzinkis made 34 saves for Columbus, while Juuse Saros stopped 29 shots for Nashville.
Former Blue Jacket Ryan Johansen recorded a goal and an assist for Nashville, while Ryan Ellis added two assists.
Michael Del Zotto and Jack Roslovic each recorded two assists for Columbus.
Nashville currently has 60 points with three games left to play. They lead the Dallas Stars, who lost to the Florida Panthers in overtime on Monday, by 4 points for the division's final playoff spot.
The Predators and Blue Jackets will meet again at Nationwide Arena on Wednesday night. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
