(08.10.2020) Big Ten, Pac-12 to postpone 2020 football season

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

The coronavirus pandemic will stop at nothing, even if that means filtering its way into the college football season.

According to Dan Patrick of The Dan Patrick Show, the Big Ten Conference and Pac-12 Conference will postpone their 2020 football seasons on Tuesday, following an internal vote by league members. The vote was 12-2 in favor of postponing, with Nebraska and Iowa voting to play.

Two of the country's most prominent conferences have now decided to push their season back to the spring, with conferences such as the Southeastern Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference and Big 12 Conference still standing.

Brett McMurphy of Stadium also reported on Monday that Old Dominion University, a member of Conference USA, will cancel their fall season following player health/safety concerns.

The Monarchs will join the Big Ten, Pac-12, Mid-American Conference and the University of Connecticut in not holding a fall football season.
