(07.29.2020) ACC announces 11-game schedule for 2020

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

One major conference tentatively has its plan in place for the upcoming college football season.

Per a release on Tuesday, the Atlantic Coast Conference will play an 11-game schedule for the 2020 season, comprised of 10 conference games and one non-conference game.

According to Stadium's Brett McMurphy, the non-conference game must be played in the team's home state, thus eliminating Pitt's trip to Huntington, West Virginia for a contest with the Marshall Thundering Herd.

Per the release, Pitt has home conference games with Louisville, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia Tech, as Notre Dame is playing this season as part of the conference.

Additionally, Pitt will travel to Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Miami(Florida). Last season, Pitt defeated Georgia Tech, while falling to Boston College and Miami(Florida).

For this season, the Atlantic and Coastal divisions will be eliminated. The conference title game, which will still be held in Charlotte, North Carolina in mid-December, will feature the two teams with the best conference winning percentage.

Game dates, times and television networks will be released at a later time, per the release.
