(06.28.2020) Pirates release 60-man player pool for 2020 season

The 2020 rendition of the Pittsburgh Pirates is one step closer to taking shape.


On Sunday, the Pirates revealed their combination of players for the 2020 season, per Alex Stumpf of DK Pittsburgh Sports. There are currently 39 players who will head to PNC Park for Spring Training 2.0, while the other 19 will travel east to Altoona to be part of the team's "taxi squad."


The roster is currently two players short of the 60-player maximum, but should be filled soon following the news of Edgar Santana's suspension.


We are not exactly sure how this season will turn out, but we have a look at who will dawn the black and gold jerseys for the Pirates this year.

The second rendition of spring training is set to get underway on Wednesday. The Pirates will return to action on either July 23 or July 24.
