(07.22.2020) Blue Jays will call PNC Park home for 2020 season

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

After much speculation, the Toronto Blue Jays will have a temporary home in western Pennsylvania.

Per Hazel Mae of Sportsnet, the team has been informed that they will call Pittsburgh's PNC Park home for the shortened MLB season.

The news comes following the Canadian government's denial of home games being played at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Other candidates included Sahlen Field in Buffalo, New York and Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Blue Jays and Pittsburgh Pirates have conflicting schedules for seven dates during the season. The first comes on July 29, when the Pirates will host the Milwaukee Brewers and the Blue Jays will welcome the Washington Nationals. As a result, games could be possibly played during the afternoon and evening.

Both teams begin their season this Friday. Toronto opens their season in Tampa Bay, while the Pirates will travel to St. Louis.
