(07.22.2020) Blue Jays' PNC Park plan nixed by PA government

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

Nearly hours after a plan seemed to be set in stone, the folks in Harrisburg had other plans for the Toronto Blue Jays' 2020 season.

Per Will Graves of the Associated Press, the Pennsylvania government denied the Blue Jays' plan to play their 2020 home games at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

In a statement, Dr. Rachel Levine said, "To add travelers to this region for any reason, including for professional sports events, risks residents, visitors, and members of both teams."

Well, this has been a whirlwind of a development.

With two days until the Blue Jays' season begins and seven days until their "home" opener, Toronto doesn't have any type of permanent home.

Per reports, Baltimore's Camden Yards may still be on the table. In an extreme scenario, the Blue Jays may end up playing all 60 games away from a home location.

Sigh.

Best of luck to the men from North of the Border. They deserve better than this.
